Welcome to Mini Hippo Land — where quirky meets quality and every puppy is raised with heart.

We’re a small, family-run breeding program nestled in the woods of Hugo, Oklahoma, just a short walk from Lake Hugo. With over a decade of experience, our love for animals runs deep. From running wildlife and dog rescues to raising raptors under federal permits, our entire life has been dedicated to the care and well-being of animals.

Mini Hippo Land was born from a desire to bring something truly special into the world — healthy, adorable, and incredibly unique Mini Hippo puppies. These lovable companions are a cross between a Chinese Shar-Pei and a Cocker Spaniel, blending the intelligence, loyalty, and charm of both breeds into one unforgettable pup. We’ve also recently expanded to offer purebred Chinese Shar-Pei and Cocker Spaniels.

Every puppy is raised in our home as part of our family. We focus on early socialization, enrichment, potty training, crate introduction, and exposing our pups to everyday sounds and environments. We even play classical music to help them fall asleep at night. From cuddling on the couch to playing in our large wooded yard, each puppy is spoiled with love and attention from day one.

Health and temperament are at the core of our program. All of our parent dogs are health tested, and puppies come with a two-year genetic health guarantee, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, 30 days of free pet insurance, and lifetime breeder support. We only place our puppies in homes we believe will treat them like family, which is why every prospective buyer must complete an application and participate in a video call before approval.
