At Mini Hippo Land, our love for animals started at a very young age and has only grown stronger over the years. Animals have always been a central part of our lives, and for several years we ran a wildlife rescue where we cared for a wide range of species. That experience shaped our deep respect for animals and continues to guide everything we do today at Mini Hippo Land.

With several years of hands on breeding experience, we discovered a true passion for Mini Hippo puppies. At Mini Hippo Land, a Mini Hippo is a unique mix of the Chinese Shar Pei and the Cocker Spaniel. This special combination brings together the signature wrinkles of the Shar Pei with the softer features and affectionate nature of the Cocker Spaniel, creating a truly one of a kind companion.

Mini Hippo dogs are known for being warm, loving, and deeply affectionate with their families. They often form strong bonds and enjoy being close to their people. At the same time, they are intelligent dogs with a strong personality. Because of the Shar Pei influence, they can be naturally protective and more reserved with strangers. They are not always overly outgoing or immediately people oriented, which is why they do best with owners who understand the importance of early socialization and consistent training.

With the right guidance, structure, and early exposure, Mini Hippos grow into incredibly devoted and well balanced companions. They thrive in homes where their owners are committed, confident, and willing to invest time into training and building a strong bond. Many also share a natural love for water and truly enjoy swimming, which fits perfectly with the lifestyle here at Mini Hippo Land.

At Mini Hippo Land, all of our puppies are raised indoors as part of our everyday life. They are handled daily, exposed to normal household activity, and socialized with care. We begin potty training early using washable potty pads and also introduce them to going outside, helping build a strong foundation before they transition into their new homes.

Each Mini Hippo Land puppy goes home up to date on vaccinations and receives a full nose to tail health check before leaving us. We take great pride in the level of care, attention, and intention that goes into raising every puppy. Our goal is not just to place puppies, but to thoughtfully match each Mini Hippo with the right family.
